Mary Beth Vitale

Experienced technology executive and President of the National Association of Corporate Directors - Colorado Chapter


Mary Beth is a general management executive with 25 years experience in the telecommunications and consumer products industries. Mary Beth was Chairman of the Board for Westwind Media, spent 5 years on the Board of Intrado, sitting on the Audit, Compensation and Corporate Governance committees and spent 3 years with RMI, sitting on the Audit Committee. Currently Mary Beth is a member of the Board of Directors of CoBiz Financial Inc. a $2.5 Billion financial holding company and chairs the Audit Committee as a financial expert. She is also Lead Director for Eye-ris, a privately held software company. Mary Beth also serves on the Audit Committee of Zynex. Inc., a publically traded medical device company. She is a founding commissioner of former Colorado Governor Bill Owens Commission on Science and Technology for the past eight years. She was awarded the NACD Director Certificate in 2006 and is the incoming President for NACD Colorado’s Chapter. She has been a frequent speaker and presenter at many technology functions and Corporate Governance seminars across the United States.

Jan Cleveland

Partner, Scheid Cleveland LLC 

 

Jan began practicing law in 1992 as a second career, after almost 20 years in business, and is currently a partner in the law firm of Scheid Cleveland, LLC. Her practice specializes in complex commercial litigation, and a broad range of legal services for business clients. She has secured many judgments for clients, some in the$.5M to $1M+ range, and serves as general counsel to both US based and international corporations.

Jan began her business career climbing telephone poles for Southwestern Bell. She spent eighteen years working her way up through the Bell System into AT&T as its Executive Director – Corporate Real Estate. In the process, Jan built expertise in the areas of strategy development; organization design and effectiveness; executive leadership; and team management.

Through her business Performance 2000, Ltd., established in 1990, Jan acts as consultant to multinational corporations, particularly during periods of change. Her clients have included AFGO Laboratories, Inc., Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, Johnson Controls, Inc., S.C. Johnson Wax, Inc., Raychem Chemicals, Inc., Warner Lambert, Inc., Westvaco, Inc. and John Deere.

Catherine Bromilow

Partner, US Corporate Governance Group

 

Catherine L. Bromilow, CPA, is a partner in the Corporate Governance Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She works with boards of directors and audit committees of major companies and institutions, providing insight on leading practice, enhancing their ability to comply with evolving regulations and expectations, and benchmarking their processes against leading practices. She has worked extensively with boards and directors from a number of countries, including the Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Israel, Mexico, the United States, and Venezuela.

For the past 12 years, Ms. Bromilow has been active in researching and advising on matters relating to board-level governance. She oversees numerous publications for audit committees and boards, including PricewaterhouseCoopers’ annual Current Developments for Directors and the quarterly periodical, To the Point. She is a regular guest on This Week in the Boardroom, an on-demand webcast for directors covering emerging issues. She was the principal author of Audit Committee Effectiveness – What Works Best, 3rd Edition, released in 2005, which helps audit committees understand the leading practices in discharging their many and complex responsibilities. She also was the project manager and principal author for the 2nd Edition of that book and its companion report, Corporate Governance and the Board – What Works Best, both of which were released in 2000. In 2009, for the third consecutive year, Directorship magazine named her as one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance.

Ms. Bromilow speaks frequently about leading corporate governance practices at conferences and seminars, and has lectured at the university level. She is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in New Jersey), a Chartered Accountant from Canada, and holds a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo in Canada.

Larissa L. Herda

Chairman, CEO and President, tw telecom inc.

 


Larissa Herda took the helm of tw telecom inc., formerly Time Warner Telecom Inc., as CEO and President, on June 19, 1998. She was elected Chairman of the tw telecom inc. Board of Directors effective June 7, 2001, and currently holds the title of Chairman, CEO and President. She served as the company’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing from March 1, 1997 until her appointment as chief executive.

Larissa is a member of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and is a director on the board of the Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve of Kansas City. Recognized for her business efforts and leadership in the community, She was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Region and the Denver Business Journal’s CEO of the Year and Outstanding Woman in Business. In addition, she was named Telecom Executive of the Year by the Denver Telecom Professionals. She also received the “Swede” Johnson Hope Award presented by the Colorado Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Women of Distinction Award from the Girl Scouts of America.

Larissa is also a member of the board of directors at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado and is on the school’s advisory board for the Center for Education in Social Responsibility. She is a member of The Committee of 200 and a member of the community advisory board of SungateKids. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado.
