Ruby Chandy
Managing Director, VP, Dow Plastics Additives
Ruby Chandy is currently Managing Director, VP, for Dow Plastics Additives. From 2009-2011, she served as Chief Marketing Officer for The Dow Chemical Company, responsible for driving transformation in marketing, pricing, and customer intimacy to reach a higher growth specialty profile. Ruby previously was CMO for Rohm and Haas.
Prior to Dow, Ruby held P&L roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific Corporation, followed by an assignment as Corporate VP, Marketing for Thermo. Previously, she held P&L positions at Boston Scientific Corporation and Millipore Corporation, and began her business career at McKinsey & Company.
Ruby has an MBA degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, an MS degree in Materials Science from Northwestern University, and a BS degree in Materials Science from MIT.
Ruby has served on the Board of Directors for IDEX Corporation since 2006. She is a member of Women Corporate Directors and served for six years on the UNICEF New England Board.
Yvonne Cook
President, Highmark Foundation
Yvonne Cook joined Highmark Inc., in March 2003 as President of the Highmark Foundation and Vice President for Community Affairs. In this position, Cook is responsible for the management and direction of the Foundation, with assets totaling $100 million and a distribution of $20 million annually. Cook is also responsible for the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of innovative and effective community and health initiative activities and for the exploration and evaluation of marketplace needs. As a leader, Cook ensures the Foundation operates and adheres to all legal, ethical and integrity standards.
Prior to joining Highmark, Cook served as the Executive Assistant to the Allegheny County Chief Executive James Roddey. In this position, she advised the Chief Executive on health and human service matters and provided oversight to the county’s Minority/Women/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Department. Her professional experience also includes working as a Program Officer with The Pittsburgh Foundation, a community foundation with assets totaling over $500 million. In this role, Cook directed three funding areas within the arts with a distribution responsibility of over $2 million. Cook also has 18 years of banking experience. She served as a Banking Officer and Cash Management Sales Representative for Bank of New York Mellon with responsibility for studying and analyzing data, understanding customer-operating requirements, recommending cash management products based upon customer evaluation, and analyzing geographical areas and/or alternative businesses to determine the potential sales capacity.
For over 30 years, Cook has volunteered her time and expertise by serving on many boards and committees. Currently, she serves on the board of Grantmakers of Western Pennsylvania. Cook is the co-founder of the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, a $42 million dollar development project and served as its treasurer for over 10 years. In 2011, Cook was honored with the leadership award in the area of Business & Industry by the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. In 2010, Cook served as co-chair of the PA Governor’s Conference for Women, The Sickle Cell Society Dinner and the Cave Canem Poetry Forum. She speaks often on topics of leadership, philanthropy, and health disparities. Cook has also received numerous awards for her leadership, commitment and passion to the community.
Cook’s corporate board experience includes joining the Board of Directors for Chester Engineers Inc., in 2009. Chester Engineers Inc., is a private company providing water and wastewater engineering solutions to public and industrial clients across the United States and internationally. She serves on the Human Resources Committee and has contributed by being involved in setting the strategic direction for the company; working to develop and retain talent; developing a plan to market the company as it celebrates its 100th year anniversary; and focusing on organizational development by moving from a founder driven organization to a traditional company looking to grow.
Cook holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in public management from the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy & Management at Carnegie Mellon University.
To prepare for corporate governance service, in 2011, Cook attended the “Importance of Reputational Risk” sponsored by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Three Rivers Chapter. In 2010, she attended “Preparing for Growth – Focusing on Controls, Transparency, and Financial Communications” hosted by KPMG LLP – Audit Committee Roundtable. She also participated in a webinar presented by the NACD focused on the SEC’s recent rules on Proxy Access. Cook is also a graduate of the Boardroom Bound Boardology Institute and profiled in the group’s National Director-Candidate Database.

Bonnie Mueller
Principal, Leadership and Talent, Hay Group
Bonnie works with executives to ensure the long-term development of talent needed to successfully operationalize business strategy. An experienced platform facilitator and coach, she focuses her efforts on building emotionally intelligent leaders and helping organizations to ensure that their management systems align to this purpose. Bonnie incorporates her background in compensation and organizational design when developing solutions that impact performance evaluation, career pathing, and high potential talent development.
Delivering results for clients
Bonnie plays a national role in helping organizations effectively design and implement leadership development systems and serves as a member of Hay Group’s Emotional Intelligence and 360º accreditation team. A frequent presenter at national conferences and industry associations, she has introduced the Hay Group leadership framework and Emotional Intelligence across a variety of different industries and to multiple levels of employees.
Within the local region, Bonnie serves as project leader and leadership development expert across a variety of clients that are working to effectively integrate their talent development processes and systems. Currently, Bonnie is actively engaged with many organizations that have accredited internal resources who leverage Hay Group’s research and tools in Emotional Intelligence, and she maintains an active network for discussion of best practices in this area.

Currently, Bonnie is doing Emotional Intelligence and leadership development work across a variety of client organizations, including sanofi-aventis, ARAMARK, Unisys, GSK, Accenture, DuPont, Air Products, ING DIRECT, and Novartis.
Bonnie’s education and affiliations
Bonnie has worked with Hay Group for 15 years. Prior to joining Hay, Ms. Mueller was in a research role with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and NASA Goddard Space Center. Bonnie holds a Bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University and has both her SPHR (SHRM) and CCP (World at Work) certifications.
